Profile: Mark A. Crawford
Mark Crawford is an assistant professor of business administration in the School of Business at Charleston Southern University. He received a bachelor of arts in political science from Armstrong State College, a juris doctor from Georgia State University and a master of business administration from The Citadel. He teaches primarily in the areas of business law and ethics, with specialized instruction in commercial and human resources law.
Prior to joining the faculty at Charleston Southern, Mr. Crawford was a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps, primarily as a defense counsel in dozens of courts martial. During this time, he also served as battalion tactical officer and marine officer instructor for the Naval ROTC unit at The Citadel. Following his military service, he transitioned to a civil practice in one of the leading defense firms in Charleston. He specialized in construction litigation and products liability, representing a variety of local and national contractors, engineers and building product manufacturers before leaving to pursue a career in higher education.
Mr. Crawford is a member of both the South Carolina and Georgia bar associations as well as the American Bar Association.
