Service Clubs and Organizations

 

African American Society: The African American Society promotes a finer appreciation of the African American contribution to American life, a better understanding of the African heritage of Black Americans and participates in intra- and extra-campus activities to encourage harmony among all people that will result in better understanding of society.

All Girls Allowed: All Girls Allowed seeks to restore life, value and dignity to girls and mothers and to reveal the injustice of China’s One-Child Policy.  The group draws from Jesus' countercultural concern and affection for women and children and hopes to restore to them the life, value and dignity that they deserve as fellow image-bearers for God.

Alpha Kappa Alpha: Alpha Kappa Alpha service sorority promotes unity, scholastic achievement, friendship and service among college and alumni women.

Alpha Phi Alpha: This service fraternity seeks to stimulate the ambition of its members; to prepare them for the great usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood and to aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.

Board of Student Organizations: Consisting of a representative from each club or organization, the Board of Student Organizations works to coordinate the activities of all CSU clubs and organizations.

Campus Activities Board: The Campus Activities Board promotes friendship and interaction among students through scheduled events. Board members assist in planning the events.

Campus Ambassadors: Campus Ambassadors is an elite group of current students who introduce Charleston Southern to prospective students, their parents and the community. They are involved in many parts of the enrollment process, from giving tours and calling students to helping them move into the residence halls once they come to campus.

College Republicans: College Republicans is the nation’s oldest, largest and most active youth political organization. Founded in 1892, there are currently more than 250,000 CRs around the country on 1,800+ campuses in every state, and D.C.  College Republicans are the grassroots arm of the Republican Party.

Delta Sigma Theta: Delta Sigma Theta is a service sorority whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.

House Council: House Council consists of a group of students who act as a voice for residents. Their goal is to offer residents the opportunity to voice their opinions and suggestions on matters concerning life on-campus and to work alongside the Student Government Association to help students get the most out of their stay on-campus.

Kappa Alpha Psi: Kappa Alpha Psi service fraternity encourages achievement by uniting men of culture, patriotism and honor for mutual support.

Kappa Phi Chi: The brothers of Kappa Phi Chi service fraternity promote an environment of acceptance, develop a greater spirit of progressive citizenship, assume the mantle of Christian values and mentor future leaders.

Lambda Theta Chi: Lambda Theta Chi service sorority seeks to empower and equip college women to become the leaders of tomorrow, to help shape the world of the future and to show them the biblical and effective historical model for leadership.

Omega Phi Beta: Omega Phi Beta service sorority seeks to serve and educate people of diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, leadership and guidance.  They seek to be positive role models who promote unity of all cultures, focus on the empowerment of women and raise the standards of excellence in academic, social and personal endeavors.

Omega Psi Phi: Omega Psi Phi service fraternity fosters friendship and demonstrates manhood in affirmative social interaction in order to uplift all men.

Phi Beta Sigma: Phi Beta Sigma service fraternity promotes the idea of brotherhood, scholarship and service.

Psi Delta Phi: Psi Delta Phi service sorority seeks to show Christian love, be effective witnesses, be women of God, promote unity and friendship, encourage high ethical standards, be of service to all mankind and be God’s lighthouse shining out His love and power and glorify Jesus Christ.

Psi Kappa Phi: Psi Kappa Phi is a Christian service fraternity seeking to further the Kingdom of God and to serve all mankind by cultivating and exchanging Christian love, promoting unity and friendship, instilling strong ethical standards and encouraging high scholastic achievement among the brotherhood.

Rotaract: Rotaract provides an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs in their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Sigma Gamma Rho: Sigma Gamma Rho service sorority’s aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community.  Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization’s programs and activities.

Student Government Association: The SGA serves as an effective self-government, to ensure  continuous exchange of ideas and opinions between the students and administration, to promote a widespread interest in student affairs, to further the activities of student life, to develop  a greater spirit of progressive citizenship and to assume the fullest responsibilities and powers of self-government consistent with the policies of the administration of CSU to promote the general  welfare and to protect the rights of the students.

Young Democrats: The Young Democrats of America is the largest youth-led, national, partisan political organization. YDA mobilizes young people under the age of 36 to participate in the electoral process, influences the ideals of the Democratic Party and develops the skills of the youth generation to serve as leaders at the local and national level.

Zeta Phi Beta: Zeta Phi Beta service sorority was founded on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterly love and finer womanhood.
