Profile: Nancy Barendse

 Professor, English Department

NancyNancy Barendse earned her PhD from the University of South Carolina and her MA from Clemson University. She joined the English department in 1996. She is a regular reviewer at Sandwich-It-In and co-chair with Scott Yarbrough since fall 2009. She has presented papers at literature, composition, linguistic and popular culture conferences; her articles and reviews have appeared in Journal of Teaching Writing, The SECOL Review and the Concise Dictionary of Literary Biography. She holds professional memberships in the National Council of Teachers of English, Assembly for Literature for Adolescents, Council of Writing Program Administrators and Carolinas Writing Program Administrators. One of her favorite activities at CSU is tutoring in the Writing Center.
