Profile: Nancy Canavera

Nancy Canavera earned her MA from the Auburn University and completed additional graduate work at Michigan State University and The Citadel. Her professional interests revolve around improving skills in composition, grammar and critical thinking among high-risk, nontraditional and first generation college students. As a Peace Corps volunteer, she developed a strong interest in global cultures and issues, world religions and peace.  She is a member the National Association of Developmental English, the South Carolina Association of Developmental English and the National Council of Teachers of English. She cherishes the time spent with the women of Psi Delta Phi, a Christian women's sorority, as she serves as faculty advisor. Likewise, her work on the Cultural Diversity Committee helps to bring awareness of other cultures to students at CSU.
