Ellen
Ellen E. Hyatt has works published in such diverse places as American Educator, the Chicken Soup for the Soul series (Sports Fans), English Journal, Outdoor Adventures in the Upcountry, Skirt! and the South Carolina Writers Workshop. Her poetry has appeared in Back Porch, Calliope, A Gathering of Flowers, Grandmother Earth, Kakalak, A Millennial Sampler of South Carolina Poetry, Poetry Society of South Carolina Yearbook, Riverbanks Magazine, Small Pond, Sunrust, Taproot, Voices International, Writings on the Desk and others. The Poetry Initiative of the University of South Carolina published online excerpts from her chapbook Leaving. She has presented at venues such as the Sundown Series of Piccolo Spoleto and has written "The Writer's Corner," a column for the Summerville Journal Scene. She earned her MEd from the University of Hawaii.  She enjoys sharing her writing and teaching experiences to help guide students in the love of learning.
