Kinesiology

 

Are you interested in a future in an activity-based career, athletic training or physical education? We offer a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Athletic Training, Physical Education and Kinesiology. A minor in Kinesiology is also available.

Kinesiology focuses on the study of human movement. Students will learn about the history, philosphy, objectives, current issues and trends in physical education, exercise science, sports and related areas.

Physical Education graduates will be eligible to take the state certification tests to teach PreK-12.

The Athletic Training Education Program trains students for the athletic training profession with an emphasis on clinical examination and diagnoses of injuries and illness.

Graduates have many career options in schools, corporate wellness centers, rehabilitation and sports medicine clinics. Many students continue on to graduate school or further study in exercise physiology, athletic training, sports psychology, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, athletic administration and medical school.
