Blue and Gold taking over campus

University Relations

T-Shirt

There’s a different “look” on Charleston Southern University’s campus this year. Everywhere you turn a sea of CSU “Blue Crew” t-shirts is coming at you. By the way, the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers football team is 7-1 heading into Homecoming Weekend. Coincidence? No.

Regina Nelson, Charleston Southern University bookstore manager, reports sales of Charleston Southern University apparel has increased 16% this year. “People are coming in they’re excited, they want to buy Charleston Southern apparel,” said Nelson. “Seniors are coming in saying, ‘I’ve never bought anything with CSU on it,’ and now they’re excited.”

Jamey Chadwell’s CSU Bucs are creating quite a stir on-and-off campus. Despite dropping their game last week in Colorado, the Bucs success has students, staff, alumni and the local community turning out en masse at home games.

“There are three times more people at the games this year than there were last year,” CSU sophomore Catherine White said in a recent Post & Courier article. The Buccaneers host UNC-Charlotte this Saturday. Kick-off time is 1:00 p.m.

Homecoming t-shirts will be on sale this weekend for $10.00. Additional CSU apparel is available through Charleston Southern University’s bookstore, located on the lower level of the Strom Thurmond Center, is open from 7:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The CSU Bookstore will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. this Saturday. You can also order gear online.
