Welcome Week kicks off August 16

University Relations

Move In DayCharleston Southern University students return to campus Friday, August 16 (new students) and Sunday, August 18 (returning students) in preparation for the new academic year, which starts Tuesday, August 20.

Move-In Day kicks off Welcome Week at Charleston Southern which includes a three-day series called Awakening. The three-night event with a focus on how the Gospel of Jesus Christ answers all the problems sin has created. CSU’s Awakening series kicks off the series Restore for the month of August. Students will be challenged to give their lives to bring the Gospel to the broken places and bring restoration.

Immediately after the Awakening each night, students have the opportunity to sponsor a rescue. Bible studies on and off campus will be represented so further connection and discipleship opportunities exist for Spiritual formation.

Charleston Southern will be partnering with community organizations each month during the academic year and representatives will speak at weekly Elevate services on Thursday nights in the campus cafeteria. August will be Operation Baby Rescue, The Dream Center in North Charleston will be highlighted in September , E3 Ministries and A 21 in October and Operation Christmas Child in November.

Elevate is our corporate worship gathering that is open to everyone. It is gathering where all the Campus Ministries gather together for worship and fellowship. Our focus at Elevate is JESUS. We seek to Elevate JESUS so that students are reached, raised in the Scriptures, and released to live out the "image of God." The Scripture focus for Elevate, "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." (John 12:32; NIV)
