Rachelle Rea

MUSCMUSC will host a radiothon to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Feb. 27 and 28. Potential volunteers should contact Julie Jongsma in the Brewer Center.

According to their website, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals such as MUSC provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids, whether they suffer from asthma, broken bones or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat one in 10 children in North America each year.

The King and Queen Penny Drive, a week-long fundraiser, was last week. The student who raises the most money is crowned either the king or queen of hearts. Last year Micheal Jeffcoat and Maddie Michaud won when they raised a combined total of nearly $1,000.

Students can sign up to help and raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network by contacting Julie Jongsma, service learning coordinator, in the Brewer Center or visiting the Children’s Miracle Network website.
