Barbara Alexander, MSN, RN, CEN
Barbara Alexander is an instructor of nursing. Her educational preparation comes from the Medical University of South Carolina (BSN, 1989; MSN-Gerontological Nursing, 1996; Post-Master’s Certificate in Adult Health, 1997).
Barbara brings many years of clinical experience as a staff nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner. Her primary area of interest is emergency nursing, although she has experience in acute and subacute physical rehabilitation, orthopedics, geriatric nursing, and critical care. Prior to joining CSU, Mrs. Alexander’s teaching experience included adjunct clinical instruction, instruction of emergency nursing educational courses, as well as many years of mentoring new graduate nurses. She is teaching adult medical surgical classes/clinicals/skills labs and maintains part time emergency staff nurse practice for a local hospital system.
Mrs. Alexander is a nationally certified emergency nurse and is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.
