Your Future in Psychology

The Bachelor of Science in psychology at Charleston Southern University offers a comprehensive foundation for all psychology-related disciplines and also offers opportunities in internships and directed research. We partner with many local organizations to offer internship placements to suit a variety of interests such as: Callen-Lacy Center for Children, Department of Juvenile Justice of Charleston County, Eagle Harbor Boys Home, Early Autism Project, Family Core, Guardian ad Litem Program, Healing Farms, Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, People Against Rape and Winwood Farm. Directed research allows students to partner with faculty members conducting personal research and work alongside them to produce their own research and published articles.

This program is available on-campus and online.

Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership

The facility includes classrooms and conference space, including the Drew Conference Center, which accommodates 200, and faculty offices for the College of Christian Studies and College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Named for W. Floyd and Shirley Whitfield.

Student Center

The Student Center houses the Campus Store, a SC Federal Credit Union ATM, and a Chick-Fil-A Express all located on the first floor. Both the Buc Stop and the Cove Conference Center can be found in the main lobby on the second floor. Likewise, the offices for the Dean of Students, Student Life, Residence Life, Student Accounts, the Cashier Window, the Registrar’s Office, Student Employment, Financial Aid, Veterans Services, CSU online, the President’s Dining Room, and business affairs can all be found on the second floor through the glass door.

The Psychology department at CSU enhanced my college experience by instructing me in light of the Gospel, challenging me to push myself further than I knew I was able, and getting to know me on an individual basis. I formed relationships with professors and students which have lasted long past graduation, and the information I learned has continued to impact my life personally and professionally. I will always be grateful for the Jesus-centered education I received from intelligent, kind and intentional professors who were consistently committed to my success.
