Profile: David Naylor, PhD
David Naylor is a professor of sociology. He received his bachelor of arts in political science from The Ohio State University; master of science in urban studies from Cleveland State University and PhD in sociology from The University of Akron. He teaches courses in Introduction to Human Services, Sociology of Religion, Technology and Behavior and Contemporary Social Problems. His major interests include leading the human services emphasis program and the sociology study abroad courses and mission trips. He has taken students to Romania, India and Nepal. He serves as director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching, which provides opportunities for professional development for CSU faculty. Dr. Naylor is a recipient of Charleston Southern University's Excellence in Teaching Award, the South Carolina Governor's Distinguished Professor Award and Charleston Southern University's Faculty Member of the Year Award.
