Profile: Susan Styles, PhD
Dr. Susan Styles is a professor of psychology in the department of behavioral sciences. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and her master's of science and doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Georgia. She teaches an array of undergraduate courses with a focus on those dealing with clinical populations. Dr. Styles has an active research program examining the relationships between parenting practices, problem-solving skills, anger and depression as they relate to substance abuse problems. Students can become active in her research by participating in the department's directed research program.
Dr. Styles has a passion for teaching students and is a recipient of Charleston Southern University's Excellence in Teaching Award as well as being named a Distinguished Professor of the Year, awarded by the Governor of the State of South Carolina.
