Title: STUDENT CLASSIFICATION YEAR IN SCHOOL
Number: R-17
Date of Inception: June 29, 1984
Purpose: To identify the "Year in School" Classification of students.
A student's "Year in School" Classification is determined by the cumulative (total) credit hours earned by a student. The undergraduate classifications are as follows:
CLASSIFICATIONS CUMULATIVE HOURS
Freshman Up to 30
Sophomore 31 to 60
Junior 61 to 90
Senior 91 or more
SPECIAL STUDENTS - A special student is one who is not a candidate for a degree.
GRADUATE STUDENTS - A graduate student is one who has earned a Bachelor's Degree and has enrolled in a graduate level course offered by the University.
