Consistent with Charleston Southern University’s strategic theme defined as institutional identity, the university relations department goal is to build a distinctive Christian identity that highlights excellence through learning, leading and serving. The department is responsible for creating integrated marketing, advertising and public relations to enhance Charleston Southern’s image and accomplish its mission and vision.

Our responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Media relations (before any information is released to media concerning internal or external University matters)
  • Design and printing requests
  • Advertising
  • Marketing materials (newsletters, invitations, brochures, banners, etc.)
  • Editorial assistance (writing/editing/proofreading)
  • Strategic marketing and communication plans
  • Event materials
  • Electronic and Web-based marketing solutions, including social media
